TUGUEGARAO CITY – Pilots of a two-seater Cessna light plane took steps for an emergency landing in Barangay Mapitac at  Sto. Niño town in Cagayan after encountering engine trouble on Thursday (September 10).

Capt. John Lexter G. Visperas, 27-year-old, pilot-in-command, and Anubhaw Prasad, a 20-year-old Indian national and student pilot, both of Pengue, Ruyu in Tuguegarao, were unhurt after Visperas manages a soft landing llg at an open field, according to the Sto Niño Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.

Local officials immediately sent rescue teams. 

Civil aviation officials are verifying the cause of the plane’s malfunction. /jpv
