CelcomDigi, KTPC seal 15-year deal to power Kulim Hi-Tech Park's digital expansion

KUALA LUMPUR: CelcomDigi Bhd and Kulim Technology Park Corporation Sdn Bhd (KTPC) have signed a 15-year strategic agreement to provide fibre connectivity at Industrial Zone Phase 4A (IZP 4A) of Kulim Hi-Tech Park (KHTP).
The partnership will see CelcomDigi leverage its fibre infrastructure and enterprise connectivity expertise to support industrial operations and digitalisation initiatives among manufacturers setting up in the new industrial zone.
Established in 1996, KHTP has grown into a key industrial hub in Kedah, attracting high-technology manufacturing investments and generating employment.
As of the second quarter of 2026, the park had recorded cumulative investments of RM189.4 billion and employed 48,813 people, according to KTPC.
With the park's continued expansion, reliable, high-capacity connectivity is becoming increasingly critical to manufacturers operating in digitally connected industrial environments.
Under the agreement, CelcomDigi will manage the fibre duct infrastructure at IZP 4A and offer incoming tenants a range of enterprise solutions, including Dedicated Internet Access (DIA), Private Leased Lines (PLL), IPVPN, Managed Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) and Managed Fibre services.
The solutions are intended to cater to tenants' evolving connectivity requirements as the industrial zone develops.
Through this partnership with KTPC, CelcomDigi aims to help realise the Northern Corridor's investment potential and the growth of more technology-driven industries across the country.
KTPC group chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Sahil Zabidi said KHTP's continued development was about more than expanding industrial capacity but also creating an environment conducive to business growth, investment and wider economic opportunities.
He said the partnership would ensure IZP 4A had the fibre infrastructure required by incoming manufacturers, supporting their operational needs and the park's long-term development.
The initiative is also expected to contribute to Kedah's economic growth, create opportunities for local talent and businesses, and strengthen the Northern Corridor's role in Malaysia's industrial development.
CelcomDigi chief enterprise business officer T Kugan said the company's role extended beyond providing connectivity to building the digital foundations businesses and industries needed to grow.
He said the partnership reflected CelcomDigi's commitment to bringing its fibre infrastructure and enterprise capabilities to KHTP Phase 4A, supporting Kedah's industrial ambitions and the Northern Corridor's continued development.
