Mohammed Shami was not part of the Bengal playing XI against Services in the Ranji Trophy 2026-27 round 2 match being played at the Airforce Complex Ground Palam in New Delhi on Sunday.

Sportstar understands Shami trained with the Bengal team on Saturday. However, there’s no official word regarding why the star India pacer was left out for the game.

Shami has consistently featured for Bengal in all domestic competitions and also played the Duleep Trophy 2026-27 where East Zone won the title.

The fast bowler hasn’t played for India since Champions Trophy 2025. Shami was once again left out of India’s upcoming tour of New Zealand where both senior and ‘A’ sides are going to play.
