202 Caraga rookie cops take oath

SAN FRANCISCO, Agusan del Sur — A total of 202 new police recruits of the Police Regional Office-13 (PRO-13) formally took their oath of office on Wednesday, marking the start of their journey as members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) under the 2026 Attrition and Regular Recruitment Program.

PRO-13 director Brig. Gen. Rolindo Suguilon administered the oath during a ceremony held at Camp Col. Rafael C. Rodriguez in Barangay Libertad, Butuan City, following the presentation of the recruits by the chief of the Regional Recruitment and Selection Unit 13.

During the event, members of the Regional Screening Committee were also recognized for their contributions and efforts in ensuring the proper conduct of the recruitment and selection process.

Of the 202 recruits, 129 were accepted under the Attrition Quota, consisting of 88 males and 41 females, while 73 were admitted under the Regular Quota, composed of 53 males and 20 females.

In his message, Suguilon reminded the recruits that their responsibilities go beyond wearing the police uniform.

“Today, as you take your oath and begin your journey as police officers, remember this: the uniform may identify you as members of the Philippine National Police, but your character, integrity, courage, and faithfulness to duty will define the kind of police officer you become,” he said.

The newly recruited police personnel will undergo six months of intensive training under the Public Safety Basic Recruit Course at the Regional Training Center in Lipata, Surigao City.

The oath-taking ceremony was attended by the recruits’ families, relatives, and friends, who witnessed the milestone as they officially began their path toward public service. /mr
