Alfred Woyome files nomination to contest NDC National Vice Chairmanship

Businessman and National Democratic Congress (NDC) member, Alfred Agbesi Woyome, has filed his nomination to contest the position of National Vice Chairperson of the party.

His nomination was submitted by former Deputy National Women’s Organiser of the NDC, Dr Catherine Deynu, who said Mr Woyome’s ambition was to strengthen the party’s organisational structures and build its capacity ahead of future elections.

She said he intended to prioritise the empowerment of party members, particularly at the grassroots and constituency levels, to help sustain the NDC’s electoral fortunes.

According to Dr Deynu, Mr Woyome’s contributions to the party over the years had positioned him to play a greater role in consolidating its structures and improving its organisational capacity.

“Many people can attest to these facts. He has done a lot for the party, and this is the time for him to be at the helm of affairs to ensure that our grassroots members are empowered and that those at the constituency level have their capacity built. He can also help build a strong party that will sustain electoral victories for years to come,” she told Accra-based Citi FM.

Dr Deynu added that Mr Woyome’s vision also included prioritising sustainable job creation as part of efforts to strengthen the party and improve the capacity of its members.

The NDC is scheduled to elect its national executives at its National Delegates Congress on Saturday, December 19, 2026, as part of its reorganisation ahead of the 2028 general elections.
