Serie A official line-ups: Udinese vs. Milan

Milan are decimated for a trip to troubled Udinese, so Christian Pulisic, Goncalo Ramos and Omari Hutchinson start with a revamped midfield against Keinan Davis, but David Alaba is injured.

It kicks off at the Bluenergy Stadium in Udine at 19.45 GMT (20.45 CET).

The mood is dire in both camps going into this match, largely due to a packed treatment table limiting the options.

Milan had seemingly found some form at last under Ruben Amorim with three wins in four competitive games, but it all fell apart with Mike Maignan’s red card and a 3-0 hammering at Bournemouth in the Europa League on Thursday.

Adrien Rabiot, Diego Moreira and Mario Gila all sustained injuries in that trip, joining Samuel Chukwueze, Matteo Gabbia, Alexis Saelemaekers and Pietro Terracciano on the absentee list.

Goncalo Ramos shook off a knock and can start upfront, but Ardon Jashari is preferred to Ruben Loftus-Cheek to bolster the midfield with Luka Modric.

Pulisic and Hutchinson step in, with Fikayo Tomori and Sankhoun Diawara plugging the gaps in defence, pushing Davide Bartesaghi into a more advanced role.

Udinese are in even worse shape, coming off five consecutive Serie A defeats to plummet down the standings.

Losing 3-0 at home to Lecce last week was a massive blow to morale, and they lost free agent David Alaba to injury as well.

Idrissa Gueye, Vakoun Bayo and Alessandro Zanoli are also out of action, while Oumar Solet is not even in the squad after failing a fitness test.

Nicolò Zaniolo returns to the bench for the first time since the 1-0 defeat to Cagliari on September 19.

Davis therefore has support from Jurgen Ekkelenkamp and Giorgi Chakvetadze.

Udinese: Okoye; Abankwah, Kabasele, Palma; Vojvoda, Karlstrom, Piotrowski, Kamara; Chakvetadze, Ekkelenkamp; Davis

Milan: Maignan; Tomori, De Winter, Pavlovic, Diawara; Hutchinson, Modric, Jashari, Bartesaghi; Goncalo Ramos, Pulisic
