Public warned vs scammers posing as DOH chief

Translate

The Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday warned the public against individuals posing as Health Secretary Edwin Mercado and soliciting donations.

“The DOH wants to clarify that any messages or calls for donations or transactions using the name of the Secretary are not official and false,” it said in a statement.

“The public is reminded to be careful and to refrain from contacting, giving money or transacting with suspicious accounts, numbers or messages,” it added.

The DOH urged the public to rely only on its official channels and to report such cases to Mercado’s office at [email protected]. —ZACARIAN SARAO
