An motorcycle rider hit a pregnant woman and her young sister as the two were crossing the road in Valenzuela City.

According to a 24 Oras report from Bam Alegre on Tuesday, the incident in Barangay Mabolo was captured by a motorcycle rider's camera.

The video shows a motorcycle up ahead hitting two people crossing the street—a 31-year-old woman who appeared to have been sideswiped by the bike, and a 12-year-old girl who could be seen lying in the road.

The young girl still feels pain and experiences discomfort from her injuries, their brother said.

“Yung kapatid ko po kasi na isa, hindi makalakad, masakit balakang niya. Nabugbog po yung siko niya pati yung balakang saka paa. Yung ate ko naman po, okay naman po… eight months na po ‘yon buti hindi siya yung nabundol,” said Lorence Santiago.

(My [younger] sister can't walk...her hips hurt. Her elbows, hips and feet took a beating. My older sister is okay… she is eight months pregnant so it is good that she was not the one who was run over.)

According to the traffic bureau of the Valenzuela Police Station, the motorcycle rider surrendered to them and tried to make amends.

Santiago said that he had asked the motorcycle rider if he had been drinking, which the rider initially denied.

However, when the police asked, the motorcycle rider’s companion confirmed that they had consumed alcohol.

There should be checkpoints in the area, Santiago said.

The motorcycle rider has already undergone inquest proceedings for slight physical injury. His bike has also been impounded.
