MANILA, Philippines – Former overseas Filipino worker Mary Jane Veloso reunited with her family early Saturday, September 26, shortly after her release from prison the prior evening.
From Nueva Ecija, Veloso’s family picked her up at the Correctional Institution for Women in Mandaluyong City. They are expected to return home to the province on Saturday.
Veloso was pardoned by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Thursday, September 24, nearly two years after her transfer from Indonesia, where she had been on death row.
