Duba and Maboe face time on the treatment table

New Chiefs signing Lebohang Maboe was forced off during the second half of their 0-0 stalemate with Golden Arrows. The severity of his injury is unclear, but it’s a blow for both club and player, who has pulled out of the latest Bafana squad to face Guinea and Eritrea. The 32-year-old playmaker has two goals and two assists from seven Betway Premiership outings this term. Chiefs have now drawn four of their seven league matches, dropping points in four of their last five. Meanwhile, 22-year-old striker Wandile Duba is also out for several weeks. He has three goals in just four appearances, underlining his importance in front of goal.

Injury wrap at Kaizer Chiefs

Goalkeeper Brandon Petersen picked up a knee injury in training and will miss up to six weeks. Meanwhile, striker Wandile Duba will miss up to two weeks with a hip and groin issue. Thabiso Monyane is also unavailable. The extent of Maboe’s injury is unclear, but he adds his name to a growing list of key players unavailable.
