My Chemical Romance’s 20th anniversary reissue of The Black Parade debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, making it the first anniversary reissue to ever do so in the chart’s history by any artist.

Upon its original release in 2006, the album debuted at No. 2, making this the first time it has hit No. 1. The anniversary reissue, which can be ordered here, also scored My Chemical Romance their first chart-topper on the UK albums tally.

The Black Parade is routinely cited as one of the greatest rock albums of the 21st century for its combination of Queen-sized art rock ambition and emo/pop punk directness alongside frontman Gerard Way’s vivid comics-inspired imaginative story.

My Chemical Romance recently finished their most recent “Black Parade” tour with five dates at the Hollywood Bowl, and are currently preparing to head to East Asia for the next leg of the tour.

Gerard Way recently announced onstage that the band plans on taking 2027 off from the road to work on a new album.
