Filipino content creator Phillip Te Hernandez, popularly known as Davao Conyo, emerged as one of the biggest winners at the TikTok Awards Philippines 2026 after taking home the Creator of the Year title.

Hernandez, who is leading a roster of local awardees who will represent the country at the inaugural TikTok Awards Southeast Asia (SEA) 2026, expressed gratitude for the recognition during the awarding ceremony held in Makati City on Thursday, Nov. 5.

“It’s a validation especially because I’m one of those creators na kahit branded ‘yung skits pinapanood pa rin nila. So, I think that is such a validation. There is a space for skits like those,” he told reporters.

“I would be honest, brand partnership is one of the ways that we earn as content creators. And I hope that this will inspire other creators as well that they could do skits, the things that they love, at the same time that it’s branded,” he added.

Hernandez, who’s known for his comedic skits, stressed the importance of being mindful of one’s digital footprint when doing content creation.

“It’s a responsibility especially now we have a digital footprint. The internet really opened a lot of doors for everyone. People with good thoughts, with bad thoughts,” he said. “As an audience, it’s also our responsibility to filter whatever we see and hear online.”

Hernandez also extended advice to aspiring content creators, urging them to focus on their talents instead of resorting to negative content just to gain attention.

“Don’t go dun sa route na madali like ragebaiting or doing something negative because alam mo may magre-react, may manonood. That is the easiest way to be viral,” he said.

“But for me, you have to dig your way through your talent and kung ano ba talaga yung gusto mong gawin to inspire other people and what you actually enjoy,” he added.
