Port Solis brings eco-luxury lifestyle destination to Lagos

Translate

A new hospitality and lifestyle destination in Lagos, Port Solis, has been unveiled with an integrated r enewable energy and electric mobility system aimed at promoting sustainable living and reducing dependence on petrol and diesel.

The facility, a project of Revocube Technologies and its subsidiaries Revocube Spaces and Revocube Energies Limited, combines hospitality, wellness, entertainment, co-working, renewable energy and electric vehicle charging infrastructure within one commercial environment.

Speaking at the official unveiling, the Group Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of the company, Olanrewaju Ogunkunle, said the project was conceived as a practical demonstration of how technology, energy, mobility and hospitality could work together to improve everyday living.

He said, “Innovation shouldn’t be science fiction; it should make life easier for people and make people have better lives. Port Solis is the first idea and reality of a melting point of every single subsidiary of Revocube Group.”

Ogunkunle said the group’s approach to energy went beyond providing electricity, noting that it also considered how energy was generated and consumed, how mobility was powered and how infrastructure could be developed more responsibly.

He added that Port Solis had incorporated electric vehicle charging infrastructure while also repurposing shipping containers for accommodation as part of its sustainability efforts.

The Lagos State Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Biodun Ogunleye, commended the promoters for integrating hospitality, wellness, entertainment and renewable energy into a single development.

Ogunleye said the project reflected the direction modern cities should take as Lagos grapples with rising energy demand and the need for cleaner sources of power.

He said, “For Lagos, the conversation around renewable energy is no longer simply around climate commitment. It is about energy security, economic competitiveness, and improving the quality of life for our people.”

In his keynote address, the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of EV World Africa, Seun Oluwalade, said Nigeria’s energy and transportation challenges should be addressed as an interconnected system rather than through isolated solutions.

Oluwalade called for stronger infrastructure, policy, partnerships, technical capacity and financing to accelerate the adoption of electric mobility and renewable energy.

He also recommended that new homes and commercial buildings be designed with provisions for electric vehicle charging before approvals and completion certificates were issued.

According to him, financing models such as lease-to-own, pay-as-you-go and fleet financing would be necessary to make electric mobility and renewable energy more accessible to residents.

The Business Manager of Port Solis, Felicia Onogwu, said the facility was designed as an experience centre combining hospitality and sustainability.

She said the facility included Seven Knots, a boutique hotel built from repurposed shipping containers; The Bridge, a multipurpose event and media space; a unisex salon and spa; a co-working facility; Solis Bistro and Lounge; and Solis Express, a convenience hub.
