Turkish League Top Scorer: Super Eagles Invitee Levels Up With Osimhen

One time Super Eagles invitee Gift Orban has levelled up with Victor Osimhen in the top scorer race in Turkey after his hattrick for Amed SK in their 5-0 win over Istanbul Basaksehir, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
The 24 year old who is on loan from German Bundesliga side Hoffenheim has scored six times in the last three games, with a brace last weekend against Kasimpasa in addition to his first goal in the league against Trabzonspor.
He now has the same number of goals with Osimhen in the race for the top scorer in Turkey after five round of games. His team are placed third in the league standing.
Orban was invited to the Nigerian team three years ago while in Belgium for Gent, but didn’t get to play due to issues regarding his eligibility for Nigeria due to his Togolese roots.
Since then he has had a not too impressive time at club level as he struggled at French Ligue 1 side Marseille, and last season didn’t have the best of time at Hoffenheim, spending the second half of the season in Italy with Hellas.
Amedspor signed the 24 year old on a one-year loan deal with an option to buy. However, there is a conditional mandatory purchase clause that will come into effect.
The mandatory purchase option kicks in once Orban reaches 10 goals. With 6 goals already to his name, he will most likely become Amedspor’s player by the end of the season.
