WSPS World Championships 2026: Bhakti wins 10m air pistol SH1 bronze, also registers junior qualification world record

India’s Bhakti Sharma shot 213.1 in the 10m air pistol SH1 final to win the bronze medal at the ongoing World Shooting Para Sport (WSPS) World Championships in Changwon.

Iran’s Nasrin Shahi Samakhoun edged Bhakti for silver while her compatriot Faezeh Ahmadi won the gold medal with a score of 238.3.

Shrishti Arora, the only other Indian in the final, finished fifth.

Earlier, Bhakti, despite placing sixth and a place below Shrishti in qualification, registered a new junior world record with a score of 565. Shrishti had 566.

Sumedha Pathak just finished outside the top eight owing to the shortage of a solitary point. Meanwhile, 2024 Paralympics bronze medallist Rubina Francis shot 554 to conclude the show at a lowly 18th.

India finished with a silver in the team event with 1690 – the combined best-of-three tally of Shrishti, Bhakti and Sumedha. Iran took the gold medal with 1707, a new record. China took home the team bronze.
