Quirino Gov. Dax Cua passes away at 48
CABARROGUIS, Quirino — Quirino Governor Dakila Carlo “Dax” Cua passed away Tuesday evening, according to close friends and employees. He was 48.
The circumstances of his death have yet to be officially disclosed by his family and the provincial government.
Cua spent 25 years in public service, entering politics in 2001 at age 23 when he was elected vice governor of Quirino. He served as governor from 2007 to 2010, representative of the Lone District of Quirino from 2010 to 2019, and governor again from 2019 until his death.

At the time of his passing, Cua was serving as national president of the Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines (ULAP), chairperson of the League of Provinces of the Philippines (LPP), and president of the United Cities and Local Governments Asia-Pacific (UCLG ASPAC).
