In the women’s hockey final at Asian Games 2026, India will face China, which pipped Japan in penalties (4-2).

India beat South Korea 2-0 in the semifinal of the women’s hockey event at the Asian Games 2026 on Wednesday.
In the final, India will face China, which pipped Japan in penalties (4-2).
India was quite wasteful against the Koreans at the Gifu Prefectural Green Stadium, fluffing goal-scoring opportunities, particularly from penalty corners in the first two quarters.

The rut ended in the third quarter, when forward Ishika turned in a penalty corner variation from close range to put India ahead in the tie.
India doubled the lead in the fourth quarter after a cutback from skipper Salima Tete crossed the goal-line off the stick of a Korean defender.
India hasn’t won a women’s hockey gold in an Asiad since 1982.
