SANTA CLARA, Ca. -- Washington Commanders receiver Terry McLaurin was carted off the field late in the first quarter with a knee injury and ruled out for the rest of Monday night's game against the San Francisco 49ers.

An air cast was put on McLaurin's left leg before he was placed on the cart.

He was injured while running a route on third-and-9 with 2:16 left in the quarter, when his left leg appeared to buckle as he cut near the Washington sideline. Quarterback Jayden Daniels was sacked on the play.

McLaurin caught a 27-yard pass on the Commanders' first drive, leading to a field goal.

McLaurin missed Washington's Week 4 game against Indianapolis after injuring his hamstring two days before, but returned the following week.

McLaurin missed seven games in 2025, snapping a streak of 72 consecutive games played. Before last season he had been a consistent producer, with five consecutive 1,000-yards season from 2020-24.
