Bleoo ’15 launches ‘Adopt a Classroom’ project to improve learning environment at Accra Academy

The 2015 Year Group of Accra Academy, popularly known as Bleoo ’15, has launched its signature ‘Adopt a Classroom’ project, an initiative aimed at renovating and modernising classrooms at the school to create a better learning environment for current and future students.

The project was announced at a ceremony at the K.G. Konuah Hall of Accra Academy, where Bleoo ’15 was formally inaugurated, marking a new chapter in the year group’s commitment to alumni welfare, school development and service to its alma mater.

The ‘Adopt a Classroom’ initiative seeks to mobilise support from old boys, corporate organisations and well-meaning individuals to improve classroom facilities and contribute to the school’s continued pursuit of academic excellence.

Speaking at the event, Bleoo ’15 President, Manuel Koranteng, called on members to look beyond individual achievements and work together to build a united, organised and supportive year group committed to making a lasting impact.

He also announced a GHS 10,000 seed for the establishment of Bleoo ’15 Cares Fund, which will provide support to members experiencing bereavement, medical emergencies and other personal hardships.

Drawing on Accra Academy’s motto, Esse Quam Videri — “To be, rather than to seem” — Mr Koranteng urged members to translate their pride in the school into tangible contributions that would improve the experiences of students and strengthen the institution for generations to come.

The inauguration ceremony brought together alumni, school authorities, representatives of other year groups, members of the SMOGA 2015 Year Group and students from invited schools.

Guest speaker Stephen Antah of Bleoo ’99, alongside Kofi Amoa-Awuah, President of the Accra Academy Old Boys Association (AAOBA), and the President of SMOGA ’15, offered words of encouragement to the newly inaugurated year group.

With the launch of the ‘Adopt a Classroom’ project and the formal inauguration of the year group, Bleoo ’15 has set out an agenda that combines member welfare with a commitment to educational development.

The year group is calling on alumni, corporate organisations and individuals to support the initiative and help turn its vision into reality. For Bleoo ’15, its legacy will be measured not simply by the milestones it celebrates, but by the opportunities it helps create for the next generation of Accra Academy students.
