CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro — Three fishermen were rescued after their fishing boat partially submerged off Wedge Island in San Vicente, Palawan, on Friday, Oct. 23, the Philippine Coast Guard said.

The Coast Guard Station North Central Palawan, through its Coast Guard Sub-Station San Vicente, responded to the maritime incident with the San Vicente Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.

The three fishermen aboard the fishing banca Loverboy were rescued with the help of another fishing boat, Serenity, whose crew responded after spotting emergency signals from the distressed vessel, the Coast Guard said.
