'Gigged 'em': Kentucky's jab after Texas A&M upset leads top trolls of CFB Week 3

Translate

Upset wins on the road are sweet. Trolling your opponent after the fact only makes the experience sweeter.

Kentucky got to enjoy just that Saturday after topping No. 9 Texas A&M in College Station 31-21. The win was first-year Wildcats coach Will Stein's first in SEC play as the boss in Lexington, making him just the fifth coach in conference history to record his initial SEC victory as an unranked team on the road against a top-10 opponent.

Afterward, Kentucky made sure to needle the Aggies a bit for good measure. The Wildcats posted a photo of an A&M-branded dog collar with a "GOOD DOG" tag attached.

Kentucky captioned the post bluntly: "Gigged 'em."

The Wildcats weren't the only team to follow up their win with some digital jabs. Here are the top trolls from around college football in Week 3.

Cincinnati 35, Miami (OH) 31

Cincinnati's win over its local rivals didn't come without a healthy dosage of stress, as Miami (Ohio) returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown and proceeded to lead all the way until the final two minutes. But as the saying goes, he who laughs last laughs longest. The Bearcats got the last laugh: Cole Tabb's 53-yard touchdown run with 1:36 remaining gave Cincinnati its first lead, the only one it would need.

The Bearcats posted a video to troll the RedHawks afterward, referencing the long stretches of the game Miami led with a clip from a viral commercial in which a fishing line is used to pull a dollar bill away, with the angler saying, "Ooh, you almost had it. You gotta be quicker than that."

Edited on top of the dollar bill in Cincinnati's version of the video? The Victory Bell trophy, awarded to the winner of Bearcats-RedHawks rivalry games.

Utah 33, Utah State 0

The Bearcats weren't the only team to troll after a win over an in-state rival: Utah did the same.

The Utes powered past Utah State in impressive fashion, outgaining the Aggies 480-188 in yardage in the shutout win. Utah made sure to drop a "lil' bro" in a postgame caption alongside a graphic of a cow with a couple of distinctive features -- tags reading "FAVORITE BROTHER" and "33-0" with a Utah-branded cone cap.

Georgia 45, Arkansas 17

Not all trolls need to be elaborate to get the message across. Georgia, which cruised past Arkansas behind 254 rushing yards and four scores on the ground, went the simple route with its postgame jab.

When colloquially shortened, the nicknames of the Bulldogs and the Razorbacks rhyme. So, a simple "Dawgs > Hogs" tagline did the trick for Georgia on social media after its Week 3 victory.

Delaware 22, Coastal Carolina 14

Quarterback Nick Minicucci shined for Delaware in an early afternoon win over Coastal Carolina, finishing 24-of-32 for 302 passing yards and a pair of touchdowns in a 22-14 decision.

The schools share a similar mascot -- Blue Hens for Delaware, Chanticleers for Coastal Carolina -- a fact that Delaware poked fun at on X following its win. Delaware's caption was complemented by a graphic displaying Coastal Carolina's mascot lying on the turf in defeat.

Iowa 55, Northern Iowa 0

Also going the simple route with a postgame troll was Iowa, which kept its parting shot at Northern Iowa after a 55-0 smashing blunt and effective: a graphic of Northern Iowa's panther mascot looking dejected inside a cage.
