The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Friday maintained that there's "no politics" in its ongoing probe into the attempt to smuggle P3.5 billion worth of illegal drugs from Laos to the Philippines.
PNP spokesperson Police Colonel Allen Rae Co said that the police are just following the same evidence as the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), according to Jun Veneracion's report on Balitanghali.
PDEA previously did not name the politician but said that the person is opposed to the administration of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on Thursday said that a politician from Mindanao allegedly provided the funds for the private plane that would have been used to smuggle the illegal drugs.
PDEA previously did not name the politician but said that the person is opposed to the administration of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
“A politician from Mindanao financed the chartered flight that was supposed to be utilized for the botched cross-border smuggling of illegal drugs in Laos,” PDEA spokesperson Joseph Frederick Calulut previously said.
The PNP, meanwhile, said the "know" the financier of the said private plane. —Jean Mangaluz, VAL, GMA News
