A number of former House lawmaker Zaldy Co’s alleged former bodyguards were served new arrest warrants from Zambales and Surigao.

In a video report from GMA News Reporter John Consulta, several of the ex-bodyguards were already meant to be released from the San Juan City police station.

Lawyer Levito Baligod and four former bodyguards were already able to post bail after being detained for alleged unjust vexation, leaving 10 other former bodyguards detained.

However, three of those who were released alongside Baligod voluntarily surrendered to police after being served with another warrant from a court in Iba, Zambales.

While the media was awaiting the release of the bodyguards, another arrest warrant reportedly came. This time, the warrant was from the province of Surigao.

The camp of the ex-bodyguards have yet to receive a copy of the arrest warrant.

The men detained in the San Juan police station are part of the 18 former bodyguards who previously claimed that they delivered suitcases filled with cash to several personalities, including President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

However, four of these former bodyguards have since recanted their allegations.

Meanwhile, Co, who is tagged as the mastermind in the flood control scheme, is believed to be hiding from Philippine authorities in Europe. —VAL, GMA News
