MANILA, Philippines – P-pop meets history at Rappler Live Jam on Thursday, October 22, with the cast of Gregoria Lakambini: A Pinay Pop Musical!
Gregoria Lakambini tells the story of Gregoria de Jesus — who is known as Ka Oryang or the Mother of the Philippine Revolution — and her eventual growth as the Lakambini of the Katipunan.
In the musical, Marynor Madamesila takes on the titular role of Gregoria de Jesus. It also stars Anya Evangelista (ensemble and Andres Bonifacio), Heart Puyong (ensemble and Emilio Aguinaldo), Sofia Sacaguing (ensemble and Julio Nakpil), Sarah Monay (ensemble and Gregoria de Jesus understudy), Ynna Rafa (ensemble), Murline Uddin (ensemble), and Frances Marie (swing).
The show was first staged by Tanghalang Pilipino in 2025. This year, it is returning from November 13 to 29 at the Proscenium Theater in Makati City.
