Amy Madigan Joins ‘Ascent’ TV Series At Paramount+

Translate

Weapons’ Amy Madigan will join Viola Davis and Sam Heughan in Ascent, Paramount+‘s new thriller series from John Logan and Paramount Television Studios.

Madigan’s character is Rachel, a former executive at Ascent Ventures and lifelong mentor to Davis’ elite corporate fixer, Catriona. Production is slated for next year in Los Angeles.

Set in the dangerous world of global corporate crisis and damage control, Ascent watches as Catriona must weaponize the ruthless skills that have made her indispensable to billion-dollar clients when her estranged daughter is in danger.

As previously announced, Outlander’s Heughan plays Conal, one of Ascent Ventures’ top agents.

Produced by Paramount Television Studios, Ascent is created by Kogan, who serves as showrunner and will exec produce alongside Michael Aguilar, as well as Davis & Julius Tennon for JuVee Productions.

Madigan won her first Oscar earlier this year for her instantly iconic villain turn as Aunt Gladys in Zach Cregger’s Weapons. The buzz around that performance led to no shortage of opportunity. Madigan’s upcoming slate includes James Ponsoldt’s Apple thriller Sponsor, where she stars opposite Jason Segel and John C. Reilly, Ryan Coogler’s X-Files reboot, which was just picked up to series at Hulu, and Amblin/Netflix’s limited series All the Sinners Bleed. Most recently, she inked to join Sony’s Tom Hanks baseball film The Comebacker, as we first reported. She is repped by Paradigm and Anonymous Content.
