Mamdani is a “dangerous leader,” Israeli ambassador says

Danny Danon, Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations, called New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani a “dangerous leader,” claiming Mamdani condemned Israel’s elimination of Hamas operatives.

He was echoing remarks today by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who released a video accusing Mamdani of supporting Hamas and “inciting riots against New York Jews.” Netanyahu said that he would come to the UN “to tell the truth about our heroic soldiers, and I’m going to tell the truth about you.”

Mamdani denied the accusations made by Netanyahu.

“What we do know to actually be the truth when it comes to the prime minister is that he is the subject of an International Criminal Court arrest warrant for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity. And as the prime minister, is the architect of a horrific genocide against Palestinians,” the mayor said during a news conference.
