With the rise in AI adoption, digital transformation, and demand for evolving strategic management skills, Mapúa University, in collaboration with Arizona State University (ASU), is expanding the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program with new industry-focused elective tracks under its E.T. Yuchengco School of Business.

The move is also in response to growing demand from MBA applicants and students for more defined areas of expertise. The E.T. Yuchengco School of Business recently introduced nine elective tracks under the MBA program covering Financial Technology, Supply Chain Management, Digital Marketing with AI, Hospital Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Health and Technology, Educational Management, HR Management, and Tourism and Hospitality Management.

While an MBA offers a general foundation in core business principles, the E.T. Yuchengco School of Business is sharpening its value propositions to meet the market’s demand for focused learning and expertise.

According to Donn Enrique Moreno, dean of Mapúa University E.T. Yuchengco School of Business, working professionals pursuing an MBA degree aim to deepen their expertise and broaden their career growth and opportunities. Moreno cited examples of those who would benefit from this development.

“The Educational Management elective track is designed for professionals seeking leadership and management roles in educational institutions, while Healthcare Administration provides a pathway for professionals preparing to lead increasingly complex and technology-driven healthcare organizations,” Moreno explained.

The nine industry-focused elective tracks currently offered remain highly relevant to the demands of today’s rapidly evolving business landscape. The Financial Technology elective track continues to play a vital role in financial planning, investment management, and digital finance strategies for organizations operating in a global economy.

Likewise, the Digital Marketing with AI elective track reflects the growing integration of technology and data-driven information in brand management, customer engagement, and market analytics, enabling businesses to drive sustainable growth amid ongoing market transformations.

The Supply Chain Management elective track addresses the increasing demand for professionals capable of developing efficient logistics and operations strategies that optimize the flow of goods or services from suppliers to end consumers. Similarly, the HR Management elective track continues to be important as organizations place greater focus on talent development, workforce strategy, and employee engagement.

The modern healthcare sector also benefits from industry-focused MBA elective offerings. The Healthcare Administration elective track equips professionals with the competencies needed to navigate digital health innovations, emerging technologies, and expanding healthcare systems.

Complementing this, the Hospital Administration elective track prepares future leaders with a strong foundation in healthcare management, finance, legal and ethical guidelines, human resources, and information systems necessary for addressing contemporary challenges in the healthcare industry. Meanwhile, the Public Health and Technology elective track promotes adaptability by embedding technology such as AI, digital tools, and other related innovations into the core of public health education and practice.

Effective leadership, strategic planning, and management also remain essential in the education and tourism sectors. The Educational Management and the Tourism and Hospitality Management elective tracks are designed to prepare professionals for leadership and administrative roles, enabling them to uphold industry standards, respond to emerging challenges, and contribute to the continued development of their respective fields.

“The industry-focused elective tracks give our MBA students the opportunity to complement their core business and management education with courses aligned with their professional interests and career aspirations. Students may choose a track that is relevant to their industry or the leadership direction they intend to pursue,” he added.

Through these offerings, MBA students can tailor part of their graduate education to their professional goals, strengthening their readiness for leadership and career mobility across industries.

“Combined with ASU-enhanced global learning, digital readiness, and applied learning, these elective tracks strengthen our goal of developing business leaders who can respond to the evolving needs of industries locally and globally,” Moreno concluded.

Mapúa University is the flagship university of iPeople, Inc. — the education joint venture between majority owner House of Investments, the listed holding company of the Yuchengco Group of Companies) and Ayala Corporation. The two conglomerates share an empowering common goal to make world-class education accessible to as many Filipino students as possible
