Ilocos Norte logs 115 new dengue cases
SAN ILDEFONSO, ILOCOS SUR, Philippines — The province of Ilocos Norte recorded 115 new dengue cases in Morbidity Week 37 or mid-September, bringing the province’s total to 2,013 since January this year, according to the Provincial Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (PESU).
The PESU also reported two dengue-related deaths this year, recorded in the towns of Solsona and Nueva Era. Both municipalities have logged more than 100 dengue cases since January.

In neighboring Ilocos Sur, health authorities are conducting dengue prevention activities, including search-and-destroy operations and targeted fogging or misting in affected areas, amid reports of increasing cases.
Health authorities in both provinces urged residents to eliminate mosquito breeding sites and maintain clean surroundings to help curb the spread of dengue. /cb
