ndia and Pakistan will renew their high-stakes rivalry at the men’s Under-19 Asia Cup in Muscat. Both teams come into the contest on the back of wins and will look to carry that momentum into Sunday’s contest. India defeated Nepal by ten wickets, while Pakistan defeated UAE by nine wickets.

Niqab continues. Aaryavir nearly chips one back to the bowler, but survives. Aaryavir punches off his back foot to long on for a single. Arjun plays it late and guides it fine past first slip for one.
Sehwag sweeps but he holes out to deep mid-wicket! That brings his struggle at the crease to an end! He has to walk back for 22.

Rizwanulla is introduced into the attack after 11 overs of misery from Seyam and Raza and he doesn’t take long to make an impact! Yashbardhan is the next batter to fall! Sees his top of off-stump get shattered by an inswinger!
But wait a minute, Rizwan might have overstepped here, the umpires are checking the replays. The umpires rule Rizwan had some part of his shoe behind the line and Yashbardhan has to walk back for one!

Vineeth gets lucky, plays the pull early and top edges it, but the ball lands safely infront of deep third man for a single. Sehwag drives, has no momentum on it, trickles to the extra covers fielder. A single to deep square leg to finish the ninth, just two runs off the over.

Ali Raza. That’s a beauty on the outside off stump line, beats Vineeth’s outside edge, as Raza has done on many occasions today.
Low full toss on the off stump line, Vineeth does well to get under it and block. Five dot balls in the over so far, Vineeth glances to deep square leg for a single.

Seyam continues. Starts with three dot balls. Run still coming only at a premium at the moment. Ooooh how did that miss the outside edge?!! Sehwag makes room to drive through off, Seyam gets the ball to swing back in off the surface but somehow, it misses the nick.
Much better from Sehwag, keeps his shape and defends confidently. Maiden over from Seyam, Pakistan continues to exert control.

Raza continues, the green covering on the surface is assisting the pacers at the moment, India’s batter walking on thin ice at the moment.
Sehwag tries to breaks the shackles, pulls over mid on the short delivery but doesnt quite get all of it, its only two runs.
Sehwag plays the shot of the morning, a picture perfect straight drive gets his and India’s first boundary of the morning!
Raza’s length ball rises up, Sehwag is up to the task as he guides it to deep backward point for a single.

Raza continues. With Raichandani’s wicket, his illustrious list of victims just got longer. At the Asia Cup final last year, Raza dismissed Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Ayush Mhatre to set up Pakistan’s big win.
He continues to test the Indian batters, hitting the middle stump line consistently and getting movement off the surface bowling it outside off. Just one run off the third over.

Wide down leg from Seyam, gets some good carry and wayward movement that almost beats the Pakistani keeper.

While the rivalry has been fairly one-sided in India’s favour at the senior level in recent times, the two sides have been more evenly matched in the junior level.
While India holds the overall edge in the H2H record- the Men in Blue have won 17 times out of 30 matches, Pakistan has got India’s number since 2021- In six meetings, it has won four times.
In the last edition of the Under-19 Asia Cup, Pakistan defeated India in a lopsided final to lift the title.
