Brad Bird’s Animated Sci-Fi Adventure Ray Gunn Blasts Off in New Trailer: Watch

It’s been eight years since Brad Bird last released a movie (2018’s Incredibles 2), but there’s a new film on the horizon from the animation legend, and a shiny new trailer for the Netflix original Ray Gunn to prove it.

Here’s the official description, courtesy of Netflix: “In Metropia, a gigantic city in an alternate future as seen from 1939, private eye Raymond Gunn is drawn into a case involving aliens, murder and a multimedia star named Venus Nova.”

At least one of those aliens will be voiced by Tom Waits, as part of a voice cast led by Sam Rockwell as Raymond Gunn and also featuring Scarlett Johansson, Patton Oswalt, Kathryn Hunter, John Ratzenberger, Alan Tudyk, Matt Berry, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Chernus, Kether Donohue, Michelle Rodriguez, Aasif Mandvi, and Matt Jones.
