Lacson questions DPWH Sec. Dizon over Taguig project geotagged in Leyte

Senator Panfilo Lacson on Sunday questioned the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) over a supposed project in Taguig City whose coordinates were located in the Visayas based on geotagged photos.

“Sec. Vince Dizon, please explain how this finding of your own team should not be flagged as a ghost project in Taguig. (Since when has Taguig been located in Leyte?)” he said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

The senator cited that the geotagged photos of the projects attached to the billing reports “reflected coordinates located approximately 600 kilometers away in Leyte Province.”

Lacson also claimed that the said project’s contractor is linked to the Discaya couple, who are big figures in the flood control scandal.

“To further highlight the red flag, Discaya’s St Timothy ang contractor. What do you say about this, Sec?” he said in a separate X post.

The senator’s social media post came after DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon said that his office has yet to find a ghost or non-existent infrastructure project in Taguig City.

Meanwhile, DPWH Undersecretary Ricardo Bernabe III also claimed that their agency has so far listed 107 projects in Taguig, all of which have accomplishments.

In another X post, Lacson said that Dizon was suffering from a “clouded” memory following the DPWH chief’s claims about Taguig infrastructures.

"Poor DPWH Site Inspection Engineers. Their boss, Sec. Vince Dizon directly contradicted their own site inspection reports in Taguig, specifically submitted by personnel from the department's Bureau of Quality and Safety and Bureau of Maintenance," Lacson said in a post.
