Vice President Sara Duterte on Sunday shared photos of her visit to the Fort Pilar Shrine in Zamboanga City, where she offered prayers of thanksgiving for her blessings and prayed for peace in the country and her father’s safe return from detention in The Hague.

In a Facebook post, Duterte said she was overjoyed by her recent visit to the historic shrine, which is frequented by devotees of Nuestra Señora La Virgen del Pilar.

(During our visit, we offered prayers and lit candles in thanksgiving for all the blessings granted to us.)

(We also prayed fervently for order and peace in our country, as well as the safe return of former President Rodrigo Duterte to our nation.)

Her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, is detained at the International Criminal Court detention facility in The Hague, Netherlands, over charges of crimes against humanity in connection with his administration’s bloody war on drugs.

During her visit to Zamboanga City, the Vice President also attended an event at the invitation of Junior Chamber International, expressing solidarity with the city’s recently concluded Hermosa Festival.
