US Embassy in Russia warns citizens in Moscow of potential 'mass casualty event' near museum

Translate

The United States warned its citizens in Russia of a credible terror attack threat at a museum in Moscow on Saturday.

"The US Embassy in Moscow is aware of a credible threat of a mass casualty event TODAY, October 31, at the Tsaritsyno Museum Reserve in Moscow at Dolskaya Ulitsa 1, Moscow, Russia 11569," the embassy wrote in a post on X/Twitter.

"The US government is coordinating with appropriate Russian authorities on a response."

The embassy advised US citizens to avoid the museum area, avoid crowds, and remain alert.

Russia’s FSB security and intelligence agency said that US intelligence services warned it of the potential attack, Kremlin-affiliated news agency TASS reported on Saturday.

"Information about preparations for a terrorist attack in Moscow has been received from the American side through partner channels. Appropriate measures are being taken," the FSB said in a statement.
