Marcos declares Nov. 16-18 non-working days in NCR for Asean Summit
MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has declared Nov. 16 to 18, 2026, as special (non-working) days in the National Capital Region for the 49th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) Summit and Related Summits.
The event, which will gather leaders from Southeast Asia and other countries, will run from Nov. 10 to 12, with some related events extending through Nov. 15.
The order was issued to alleviate traffic congestion and allow the host country to ensure the safety and security of participants in the event, according to Proclamation No. 1447, signed by Executive Secretary Ralph Recto by authority of the President on Sept. 17.
