Tornadoes extend unbeaten run in Barau draw

Translate

Niger Tornadoes extended their unbeaten run in the Nigeria Premier Football League to five matches after playing out a goalless draw against Barau FC at the Bako Kontagora Stadium in Minna on Friday, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

The Ikon Allah Boys have now recorded three wins and two draws in their last five league outings, while Barau extended their own unbeaten run to four matches.

Both sides struggled to create clear-cut scoring opportunities in a closely contested encounter, with neither able to find the breakthrough.

The result moved Barau up to fourth position on the league table, while Tornadoes climbed to fifth.

Tornadoes will face Bendel Insurance away in their next league fixture, while Barau will host Shooting Stars.

Before Friday’s encounter, Tornadoes had received a boost with the return of Joseph Godfrey, Erickson Mendos and Moses Obioma from injury, giving the coaching crew more options for the matchday 11 fixture.

However, Nafiu Obalowu remained unavailable after sustaining an injury during their previous league outing against Abia Warriors.
