Kaizer Chiefs confirm Betway Premiership fixture postponement

Translate

Kaizer Chiefs’ Betway Premiership clash against AmaZulu has been postponed, with the fixture originally scheduled for Wednesday, 4 November, at FNB Stadium.

The match was due to kick off at 19:30, but the postponement is due to a scheduling conflict with South Africa’s local government elections which are due to take place on the same day.

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) is expected to confirm the revised date for the fixture, along with details of other affected matches.

break

Both teams will enter the break having secured places in the quarter-finals of the Carling Knockout Cup.

Kaizer Chiefs booked their spot in the last eight with a convincing 3-0 win over TS Galaxy at FNB Stadium. Wandile Duba was the star of the show, scoring all three goals.

AmaZulu also progressed, defeating Kruger United 1-0 in their Round of 16 encounter.

The cup competition now provides both sides with another target while they wait for clarity on their league schedules.

How the teams have performed

Kaizer Chiefs have started their Premiership campaign unbeaten, recording three wins and five draws from their opening eight matches.

Amakhosi lie in fifth place on 14 points, nine adrift of log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, but the Glamour Boys have played one fewer match.

Meanwhile, AmaZulu have made a strong start of their own, with six victories, one draw and one defeat from their first eight league games.

Usuthu find themselves in third place with 19 points, four behind Masandawana, but also have a game in hand.
