Coronation Street's Christina to search for answers after huge Lucy twist

Now that Coronation Street has unveiled a shock new twist for Christina Boyd, next week's scenes will see her trying to come to terms with the new reality that the bubbly figure finds herself in.

It's been revealed that she had a long-lost daughter who died recently, and that her granddaughter is now living in Weatherfield. As part of her work as an assistant funeral director, Christina read the name 'Rachel Parkinson' on some paperwork - and was quietly shaken.

When Tim Metcalfe and Lucy Parkinson explained that Rachel was the recently deceased biological mother of their foster child Lucy, Christina was visibly horrified.

She later confided in George that Rachel was her daughter, who she gave up for adoption three months after she was born. She faced a huge decision over whether to tell Lucy about their connection, but George urged her not to rush into anything.

In next week's episodes, Tim confides in Lisa at how Richie - Rachel's husband, who is believed to have killed her - tried to pressure him into telling the police that Rachel was abusive.

Tim explains that he refused Richie's demand, but is now worried that Richie might be putting Lucy under the same pressure. Tim asks Lisa to look into his theory - but unbeknownst to them, Christina is listening in.

In the Rovers, Christina tries to get as much information as she can out of Tim about the whole state of affairs, and Tim tells her that Rachel's death might not be as clear-cut as they first thought.

Later, Sally swings by the undertakers to order Rachel's plaque, and Sally brings along some family photo albums. Thinking fast, Christina pretends that she has another client due any minute, and swiftly ushers Sally and Lucy out.

Teasing what's to come, Amy Robbins, who plays Christina, recently told us: "She did nothing for her daughter in life once she gave that baby away, so she thinks the least she can do in death is to play her part, to try to get some justice, as that's all she can do."

"She feels that she failed her in life, so she wants to do something," she added, but we will have to wait to find out what that "something" will be.
