SASSA announces ALL payment dates for November 2026 cycle

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has released revised social grant payment dates for November 2026, moving the cycle forward ahead of the upcoming Local Government Elections.

The agency announced the new schedule in a media statement on Wednesday, 14 October, confirming that older persons will receive their grants before the end of October.

SASSA confirms November 2026 grant payment dates

According to SASSA, grants will be paid as follows:

  • Older Persons Grant: Friday, 30 October 2026
  • Disability Grant: Monday, 2 November 2026
  • Children’s Grants: Tuesday, 3 November 2026
  • Grants under review: Thursday, 5 November 2026

The Older Persons Grant payment falls in October but forms part of the November payment cycle.

Why SASSA moved the November dates

SASSA said the revised schedule follows “extensive consultations between SASSA and various stakeholders” to keep grant payments running “efficiently, securely and with minimal disruption during the election period.”

National Treasury approved the revised dates after these engagements, clearing the way for the new schedule.

“The Agency remains committed to ensuring that eligible beneficiaries receive their grants in an orderly and reliable manner,” SASSA said.

The agency added that the adjustment aims to support the smooth administration of payments in the period surrounding the elections.

SASSA urges grant recipients under review to respond

SASSA reminded beneficiaries whose grants are under review to respond to official communication from the agency and attend review appointments when requested.

The agency said the fourth-day payment on 5 November “is specifically intended for beneficiaries whose grants fall within the review process.”

SASSA also urged grant recipients not to rush to its offices unnecessarily, as payments will be processed according to the announced schedule.

The agency encouraged beneficiaries to rely on its official communication channels for accurate information and to guard against misinformation and disinformation about social grants.

“SASSA remains committed to safeguarding the integrity of the social assistance system while ensuring continued access to social grants for millions of South Africans who depend on this vital support,” the agency said.
