NAGOYA, Oct 3 — “I want it all” and that’s the determination of national squash player Ng Eain Yow, who now dreams of becoming the world number one, world champion, and a gold medallist at the Los Angeles 2028 (LA28) Olympics.

The 28-year-old player said his current focus is to continue improving his world ranking after settling into a more stable routine at his training base in Bristol, England.

“Right now, my focus is on climbing the rankings. I have returned to a more stable life at my training base and am able to train consistently.

“I can focus on squash and am very excited to keep improving my game over the coming months and into next year,” he said when met after helping Malaysia secure its ninth gold medal in the men’s team event at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Games yesterday.

Eain Yow, who also won the men’s singles event, believes that a more consistent training routine will serve as the foundation for him to rise in the world rankings.

“I believe I will continue to climb the rankings. I want to be world number one, I want to be world champion, and I want an Olympic gold medal. I want it all in this sport, so I will keep working hard,” he said.

Earlier, Eain Yow currently ranked 18th in the world became the first Malaysian athlete to secure an automatic spot for LA28 after winning the men’s singles title, followed by S. Sivasangari, who also confirmed the country’s automatic qualification in the women’s singles.
