NFL Week 2 action begins with the Buffalo Bills breaking in their brand-new home, Highmark Stadium, against the visiting Detroit Lions on Thursday night.

Both teams enter the contest following nail-biting victories. Buffalo pulled off a last-second win over the Houston Texans in Week 1, forcing a C.J. Stroud fumble on the Texans' last drive of the game to secure a 36-31 win. Meanwhile, the Lions needed to go to overtime to get past the New Orleans Saints. After being held scoreless in the first half, the Saints stormed back to tie the game at 24-24 at the end of regulation before losing 31-30 on a failed 2-point conversion.

Dan Campbell's message to his team

As the Lions prepared for their first road game, head coach Dan Campbell delivered a message to his team during the short week about what to expect at the Bills’ new stadium. As a player, Campbell reflected on his first trip to Philadelphia, when fans threw hot dogs and beer cans at the team bus.

The atmosphere inside Highmark Stadium is just as he predicted, with fans bringing lots of energy.

“Drink it in. Enjoy this. This will be one of those places where it’s gonna be loud. Their fanbase is outstanding. They’re a lot like our fanbase. They love it, and they show up and they’re loud,” Campbell told his team this week. “They’re all in and now you’re in a new stadium. It’s a new environment. This is the first one in that place, the christening, so it’ll be special. So, I’m telling our guys, ‘Embrace it. Keep your composure. Don’t forget, it’s one play at a time. And stay focused on your job and keep your head about you, but man, enjoy it. Enjoy every bit of it.’”
