SAN ILDEFONSO, Ilocos Sur — Police arrested a 23-year-old man wanted on a statutory rape charge in Rosario, La Union, on Friday, Oct. 9, according to the Ilocos Sur Police Provincial Office (ISPPO).

The suspect, who was listed as Narvacan, Ilocos Sur’s most wanted person at the municipal level, was arrested by personnel of the Narvacan Municipal Police Station in Barangay Bani, Rosario, the ISPPO said in a statement.

The warrant recommended no bail for the statutory rape charge, police said.

The ISPPO, led by provincial director Col. Agosto Asuncion, said the arrest was part of its continuing efforts to track down wanted individuals, including through operations beyond the province’s borders.

Police urged the public to provide credible information that could help authorities locate wanted persons and maintain peace and order. /das
