Emmerdale - is Sadie King exiting the soap after being caught out?

Translate

Emmerdale spoilers follow for the latest episode to air on ITV1 and stream on ITVX and YouTube.

All of Sadie King's lies and plans came crashing down around her in tonight's instalment, but does that mean her comeback stint in the village is over?

The latest episode began with the villagers gathering for Jimmy's funeral, with Nicola telling Laurel Thomas that Sadie has been "great" with her support.

Robert Sugden approached ger to tell her that Jimmy hadn't been having an affair with her but couldn't bring himself to do it. When he went to The Woolpack afterwards, Aaron Dingle was furious that he'd bottled it.

"You can't let Nicola bury him like this, it's not right," Aaron snarled after Robert tried using the funeral as an excuse to keep quiet. At the church, Nicola muses out loud that she'll "never ever" forgive Jimmy for the affair.

Back in the village, Robert told Sadie that he went to the locker and there was nothing in there. Feeling like she'd been swindled, Sadie was furious.

A stressed Nicola went to see Carl and tried to help him salvage the files for the funeral presentation he had made by opening up the laptop, only to discover some very interesting voicemails backed up from Jimmy's phone...

"He wasn't cheating, he was only trying to help. I called him all sorts... because that witch lied to me."

Nicola headed to the funeral with the intention of "wring[ing] her flaming neck", but after seeing Sadie had positioned herself in the front row, decided to wait and make a passionate speech to the crowd about her man before getting revenge.

Outside, Nicola slapped Sadie to the ground (with some flowers, not with her hands) and exposed her lies to everyone present, before telling her to clear off.

Robert sneakily caught up with her and told her that their agreement was off, and with no-one wanting her to stick around in the village, she might as well go.

While the episode could easily serve as Sadie's latest departure, the soap actually has more some drama in store before her latest stint comes to an end.

It's been previously reported that Sadie will form an alliance with Joe Tate, with producer Sophie Roper exclusively telling Digital Spy that there will be "fireworks" and that there will be "incredible, exciting twists and turns, and a lot of unexpected revelations" before we see the back of her.

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX and YouTube.
