fter Sawan’s historic silver, Tajinderpal Singh Toor’s silver and Prachi’s bronze, attention turns to the athletics arena on Sunday evening. National record holder Ancy Sojan and Shaili Singh will bid for gold in the women’s long jump final, while India will also feature in the high jump final. Animesh Kujur will line up in the men’s 200m final, while Parul Chaudhary will be in action in the women’s 3000m steeplechase final. Several qualifying events are also scheduled through the evening. Here's what happened so far today
We are coming into the athletics events after the country won two silver medals, with Abhay Singh and Anahat Singh finishing second in the squash singles final, respectively. Earlier today, Murali Sreeshankar and last-minute addition to India’s contingent, David Solomon, advanced to the men’s long jump final.
