Mitsunaka is mighty, but mellow

Mitsunaka came to ARK from Kawanishi in Hyogo Prefecture after his owner became ill.

Named after Minamoto no Mitsunaka, a powerful and wealthy samurai associated with the area, this Mitsunaka is a gentle soul and quite reserved.

His favorite pastime is snoozing in the afternoon. But, he also likes walks and if you show him his harness he’ll get quietly excited. Once out on the stroll, he’ll keep walking as long as allowed, but he’s a very manageable size and doesn’t tug on his leash.

Mitsunaka is fine with most other dogs, but being a gentle soul, he sometimes gets bullied.

He is something of a choosy eater, but his mild-mannered, slow-life style more than makes up for this only “difficulty.” Rather cat-like, Mitsunaka appreciates good company but he won’t beg for it. Give him a sunny spot and he’ll happily snooze.

Thirteen years old and weighing in at 13 kg, we’re hoping Mitsunaka will get lucky and find the home he’s missing.
