Senior citizen nabbed in Mabalacat City drug sting

MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga—A buy-bust operation resulted in the arrest of a 60-year-old man for allegedly selling illegal drugs in Barangay Sapang Biabas here on Saturday.

In a statement, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 3 (PDEA 3) said the operation wad carried out at 4:20 p.m. that also resulted in the confiscation of an estimated P68,000 worth of suspected “shabu” (crystal meth).

It said the senior citizen suspect is a resident of Barangay Dau here.

The PDEA 3 said five heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing about 10 grams of suspected shabu were seized from the suspect after he sold one to an undercover operative.

The marked money used in the buy-bust operation was also recovered.

“A non-bailable offense under section 5  (sale of dangerous drugs) of Republic Act 9165 also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 is now being prepared for filing in court,” the PDEA 3 said.
