Nwele spoke during a meeting with women from Umu Ekumaenyi in Ezza land, where she assessed the performance of the state government and declared support for the PDP governorship candidate, Chief Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, ahead of the 2027 election.

She said the women had expressed concerns over what they described as a sense of neglect and exclusion from the affairs of the state.

Nwele alleged that the APC administration lacked clear direction and had failed to meet the expectations of residents in key areas of governance.

“When a square peg is forced into a round hole, there is bound to be heavy failure of the entire system,” she said.

The PDP leader also alleged that despite receiving substantial monthly allocations, the state government had not done enough in human capital development, education, infrastructure and healthcare.

She, however, presented Odii, popularly known as Anyichucks, as an alternative, describing him as a candidate with the vision, capacity, exposure and business experience to reposition the state.

According to Nwele, an Odii administration would prioritise road construction, healthcare, rehabilitation of infrastructure, innovation and human capital development, while empowering farmers and creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.

She expressed confidence that the proposed changes would become reality if Odii is elected governor in February 2027.

Nwele also urged the women to remain focused on the 2027 election, arguing that good governance should be measured by development and service delivery rather than threats or intimidation.

“Ebonyi is now wiser,” she declared.

The meeting ended with the women of Umu Ekumaenyi expressing readiness to mobilise support for the PDP ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
