Golden State Valkyries vs. Atlanta Dream - Game Highlights (1:08)
Oct 19, 2026, 07:45 PM ET
Welcome back to Ballhalla!
Golden State hosts Game 2 of the WNBA Finals on Monday (8 p.m. ET) and is again looking to make the most of its home-court advantage. The No. 2 seed Valkyries ground out a 68-64 victory Saturday to take a 1-0 lead over the No. 4 Dream.
Both teams are seeking their first WNBA championship. Atlanta has played in three previous Finals but was swept in each appearance. Golden State, an expansion franchise in 2025, is making its first trip to the Finals in just its second season.
Golden State had the best home record in the regular season, going 17-5 at Chase Center. The Valkyries have won seven consecutive games at home, including five playoff contests. Saturday's win snapped Atlanta's 10-game winning streak.
The series will shift to Atlanta for Games 3 and 4. As the better seed, the Valkyries host Games 2 and, if necessary, 5 and 7 in a 2-2-1-1-1 format.
ESPN is courtside at Chase Center and will provide live analysis throughout the game.

Stat watch: The Atlanta Dream
The Dream are 2-3 all-time in playoff series when trailing 0-1. Their last series win in this situation was in the 2013 Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Washington Mystics.
Angel Reese snapped a career-long four-game drought without a double-double in Game 1. The team is 25-9 when Reese has a double-double this season (across the regular season and the postseason).
Rhyne Howard is 18 points away from tying Tiffany Hayes for the third-most points in Dream playoff history.
Jordin Canada has three games with 10-plus points and 10-plus assists this postseason. A fourth such game would tie with Alyssa Thomas (2025 & 2023) and Courtney Vandersloot (2021) for most in a single postseason in WNBA history. She's also 14 assists away from tying Angel McCoughtry for most assists in Dream playoff history.

Stat watch: The Golden State Valkyries
Teams that go up 2-0 in five- or seven-game playoff series in the WNBA have a 22-0 series record. 👀
The Valkyries have seven consecutive wins at home, the longest streak in the franchise’s brief history. The Valks are 5-0 at home during the playoffs. With a win tonight, they would tie the 2023 Las Vegas Aces for most consecutive home wins to start a single postseason.
Gabby Williams is averaging 23.1 points through seven postseason games -- the highest-scoring seven-game span of her career. She has also had 15 points in seven straight postseason games -- with 15 points tonight, she would tie with five others for the third-longest such streak to begin a single postseason in WNBA history, trailing just Diana Taurasi (11 in 2009) and Maya Moore (9 in 2015).
