KANGAR, Oct 3 — Police received a report on September 26 regarding an allegation of sexual harassment of a child by a motivational speaker.

Perlis police chief DCP Hamzah Hashim said the report was lodged at 2.09am and the case is being investigated under Section 12 of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.

“If convicted, the offender can be jailed up to five years and may also be liable to caning,” he said in a statement yesterday.

He urged other victims who may have had contact with the motivational speaker to come forward and lodge police reports.
