Moloisane confident Kaizer Chiefs can keep pace with Sundowns and Pirates

Kaizer Chiefs defender Thabo Moloisane has highlighted the importance of getting three points from Golden Arrows this weekend.

Amakhosi are eight points behind log leaders Mamelodi Sundownbs.

Against Golden Arrows, Amakhosi will have to play without their captain Brandon Petersen, who is ruled out due to an injury.

“First, well wishes to Beeza (Petersen),” Moloisane told Chiefs media.

“Secondly I think we have capable guys in the goalkeeping department. Bruce is there, Renaldo is there. The goal is to make sure the team wins and make sure we support each other. So we are not panicking”.

Chiefs looking to get their revenge over Arrows

Amakhosi will seek for revenge having lost to Arrows in the MTN8 quarter-finals last month.

“We lost a game we shouldn’t have lost,” Moloisane admitted.

“It was a game of very few chances, with minor mistakes. We know going into this game that they are a team that plays a lot of counter-attacks. So it is something we are really preparing for.”

Chiefs need three points to keep up with the likes of Sundowns and Orlando Pirates. Failure to beat Arrows could see their title hopes slip with just seven matches in.

“It is going to be extremely important to get the three points,” added Moloisane.

“We have got two draws in games we should have won. Especially going into the Fifa break (we need to) take a bit of pressure off our shoulders, knowing we are keeping pace with the teams at the top.”
