Ishan Kishan is ruled out of the second T20I against New Zealand due to a low grade right adductor strain, which he sustained during the first T20I of the series.

The BCCI Medical Team is monitoring his progress.

India’s successful chase of 226 in the first T20I against New Zealand, sealed with four wickets and two balls to spare, was not without its talking points. Tilak Varma walking in at No. 3 ahead of Ishan raised a few eyebrows, adding an intriguing subplot to an otherwise thrilling run chase.

Tilak struggled to find his rhythm, managing just six off 11 balls before falling to Michael Bracewell. Meanwhile. Ishan lasted only three deliveries for a solitary run before Mitchell Santner sent him back.
